We want to be as transparent as possible with the updates on Outdoor Food Club, so, as well as putting the updates on social media, we thought we'd create this page, so that you know what you can do using the food discovery tool and also see updates that have been made to it.

The food discovery tool is open to all and here we keep you up to date with what tools and features you can use on it.

  • Diet: If you follow a particular diet, you can filter by vegetarian, vegan, keto, etc and see food items for just that diet choice
  • Meal Time: Looking for a particular meal time to cover? Fancy a drink, breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert?
  • Food Type: Filter through food types, this will filter all foods by the type of food; protein bars, energy gels, packaged meals, hydration powders, fruit, nuts and much more

As well as the filters above, you get access to these following sorting columns:

  • Weight per serving: This is the weight of the actual food item
  • Calories per serving: The calories you will find on the back of the nutritional label of the food item
  • Calories per gram: This is a special number we have worked out, you can use this number to compare objectively
  • Carbs per serving: The carbs you will find on the back of the nutritional label of the food item
  • Carbs per gram: This is a special number we have worked out, you can use this number to compare objectively
  • Protein per serving: The protein you will find on the back of the nutritional label of the food item
  • Protein per gram: This is a special number we have worked out, you can use this number to compare objectively
  • Sugar per serving: The sugar you will find on the back of the nutritional label of the food item
  • Sugar per gram: This is a special number we have worked out, you can use this number to compare objectively
  • Sodium per serving: The sodium you will find on the back of the nutritional label of the food item
  • Sodium per gram: This is a special number we have worked out, you can use this number to compare objectively
  • Fat per serving: The fat you will find on the back of the nutritional label of the food item
  • Fat per gram: This is a special number we have worked out, you can use this number to compare objectively

We are continually adding new features and tools to this advanced food discovery tool and you can support us for as little as $1 a month through our patreon.

Food Discovery Tool Choose Items Per Page

You can now choose how many items you want to see on the food discovery tool.

The default is 50 food items, which you can now change to 100 or even 200 food items.

This helps when comparing many different items within a specific category.

My Favorites Totals Of Calories, Weight And Protein

We have updated the my favorites section where you can save individual food items and create lists for your adventures.

The updates include:

Adding totals to the calories, weight and protein columns. 

So if you have an upcoming adventure, you can go through the food discovery tool, add food items you like and they will get saved to your favorites page.

Mobile Friendly Discovery Tool

We've been working hard on making the discovery tool as friendly as possible for all website visitors.

You can now access the main discovery tool at outdoorfood.club/food with mobile and tablet devices and have access to all filters and sorting options.

Nothing is limited for mobile users.

Filter By Meal Time On Food Discovery Tool

We have added a new filter to the food database, meal time, which means you can filter all food items by the time you are to eat them.

If you're looking for snacks, breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert or even drinks, you can filter by these options now.

Discovery Tool Update Sort By Fats Per Serving & Fats Per Gram

You can now sort by fats per serving and fats per gram for every food item on the main discovery tool www.outdoorfood.club/food

This update is for all users, not just supporters.
